Bethesda, MD, December 8, 2005 -- Geocentric has been awarded the 2005 MAPublisher Map Award in the Multimedia Map category for their cartographic work on the Downtown Bethesda Interactive Guide.

The MAPublisher awards, recognizing excellence in Cartography and Map Making, have been awarded annually since 2001 by Avenza Systems Inc., makers of the widely used MAPublisher Software for creating cartographic-quality maps from GIS data.

Winning maps and notable entrants for this year's competition are forwarded to The Map Division of the Library of Congress in Washington, DC to be added to the MAPublisher collection established in 2003.
