Bethesda, MD, July 31, 2006 -- Geocentric announced today that the Downtown Raleigh Alliance has launched a new website, www.godowntownraleigh.com, driven by Geocentric's Citylight Web Software for Destination Marketing.
The new website contains an extensive events calendar and merchant directory, plus an interactive map of the five neighborhoods that make up the downtown district: Glenwood South, Capital District, Warehouse District, Fayetteville Street District and Moore Square.
"The interactive map is very popular with our site visitors," said Nancy Hormann, President and CEO of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, "and the Citylight software is popular with our staff-- who now has an easy way to keep the map, the calendar, and the website up to date."
Website development, and the integration of Citylight XML Web Services, was performed by Raleigh based web developer Scott Reston. He commented, "I found Citylight to be really flexible." Two of Reston's web projects have recently been recognized nationally as official honoree selections of the 10th annual Webby Awards, an international award honoring excellence in Web design, creativity, usability and functionality.
The visual identity for the new website was designed by North Carolina based Kelly Marcom, Inc, an award winning marketing communications firm.
