Jim Blakeslee is an expert on the subject of using maps and mapping applications on the Internet, especially for the purposes of Destination Marketing. He is the Founder and President of Geocentric, a startup software firm based in Silver Spring, Maryland. Geocentric is dedicated to enabling Destinations Clients, such as downtown business districts, ecotourism organizations, and travel/tourism destinations, to self publish and self manage interactive maps and location-driven content inside their websites, creating high value content that appeals to people while simultaneously achieving high rankings in Internet search engines such as Google and Yahoo.

Prior to launching Geocentric, Jim Blakeslee was the Vice President of Business Development for BrowserMedia, a top Washington DC Interactive Web Development Firm. Prior to that, he served as the Manager of Public Sector (Civilian Government) for MapInfo Corporation, a leading Geographic Information Science (GIS) software vendor. He is member of the North American Cartographic Information Society and the International Downtown Assocation. He is a 1993 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and recently received his Master's of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business.


Michele Blakeslee

Michele Blakeslee is Geocentric's lead Information Architect. She manages client projects for data preparation, in addition to her technical role supporting data quality for the underlying geospatially structured attribute data. Most recently she developed a repeatable set of taxonomies to support traditional, city-level data management for web based directories.

Prior to joining Geocentric, Michele held senior positions at the American Institute of Physics in College Park, MD as well as Aspen Systems in Rockville, MD. Michele received her Undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and holds a Master of Information Science (MS) degree from Drexel University.
